Jordan Nihil is a Singer-Songwriter born in the quirky seaside City of Brighton & Hove, England. Jordan’s music captures the cruel merry go round of hope and disappointment that many feel when they chase their calling. His lyrics take you on a journey of abuse, addiction, fear and broken relationships, all juxtaposed with hope, beauty and a relentlessness of following his dreams, wherever they might take him. The hedonism knows no end and the stories are authentic, seemingly coming from the heart of a man who has toasted a whiskey with the devil himself.
Born to perform, Jordan studied music at college and began his journey early. Along the way he fronted a few locally successful bands before making the decision to focus on life as a solo artist. He has shared the stage with a variety of musicians including The Bluetones, The Coronas and Inspiral Carpets and has performed at BBC South Live Lounge, The Concorde 2, The Haunt, Dublin Castle and The Kasbah. He has written music for independent films and featured on and in countless radio shows and magazines.

Downers are a 5-piece guitar based pop band from Worthing, who have played music together for years but finally got their act together in 2019. This collection of never say die troubadours met at school and just couldn't get enough REM, The Cure and The Smiths. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses punchy choruses and driving rhythms with punky energy and witty songs that will make you want to start your own band.

Proper Job formed in late 2019 just before a pandemic bought the world to its knees, frontman Matt Buckland and brother Dom formed Proper Job to do just one thing…bring the blues kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

Both being dedicated musicians from a young age, Matt & Dom were initially captivated by the prog prowess of heavier bands like Porcupine Tree and Opeth before discovering John Mayer’s “Who Did You Think I Was” which catapulted both the brothers down a blues rabbit hole, rediscovering the power of Hendrix, BB King and Gary Clark Jr. Their fate seemingly was now written in stone.

The name is a conscious spit in the face of 9-5 culture and how Matt & Dom were steered away from the arts by well-meaning family & friends and is a gesture of solidarity with every musician and artist all over world who has been told time and time again “Why don’t you just get a Proper Job?”.

Following the collapse of Matt’s previous band, he kept on drummer and faithful friend Alex Eve to complete the trio. Alex comes from a different school to the brothers, one of Hard Rock and Pop. Alex not only acts as a powerhouse behind the skins, but also as an arranger and producer tempering the brother’s natural desires to lean towards blues purity.

Initial writing sessions were fruitful and the chemistry between the three was immediate, building on their plan to blend the organic feel and magic of the blues, with modern song writing and the history of heavy music woven into the musical DNA of the three. 5 songs were birthed quickly: Loco-Motive, Deceiver, Giving Up & Letting Go, Burnt Finger Blues and When Thursday Rolls Around. These songs formed the backbone of what would have been an epic live set…Had there not been a global pandemic.

Before the events of 2020 the boys were preparing to burst onto the scene, they recorded 2 singles “Loco-Motive” a fast paced, funk-rock wild ride about toxicity in relationships, while also being a play on words about how seemingly every blues artist has a song about a train; and Deceiver a mid-tempo sludge riff laden monster where Matt’s raw Gary Clark jr esque vocals shine and one of the most epic solos you’ve ever heard attempts to rip your face off.

These singles released to a more welcome response than the trio expected, with plenty of positive messages coming in on the bands Instagram with views on the Instagram reaching over 1000 and over 10k on Facebook. This culminated in several gigs being booked including a set on Ramblin’ Man Fair’s Rising Stage that unfortunately was all cancelled.

We all know very well what happened to the rest of 2020 and 2021 but this has not deterred Matt, Dom & Alex and while we’ve been all locked up in our homes they have been planning the next 3 years of the ‘job’ and honing their song writing and playing ready to stand well above the competition as soon as the gigs start flowing.
