OBIE TRICE

GOLD CERTIFIED DETROIT HIP-HOP ICON OBIE TRICE BRINGS TOUR TO WORTHING

Born and raised on the west side of Detroit, Trice was given a karaoke machine by his mother aged eleven and used it to rhyme over instrumentals from artists such as N.W.A. By fourteen, he was attending rap battle gatherings around Detroit, including the Hip Hop Shop on Saturday afternoons where rap battles were hosted by Proof from D12.

Calling himself Obie 1 at that time, Proof introduced him at the Hip Hop Shop as Obie Trice, which became his iconic rap name. Trice’s talents led to him being introduced to Eminem through D12 member Bizarre, and Trice signed to Shady Records in 2000.

His razor-sharp wordplay and no-nonsense delivery set him apart, earning him a platinum plaque for his 2003 debut Cheers which features hits Got Some Teeth, The Set Up and Sh*t Hits The Fan. Beyond his own records, Trice’s name is woven into hip-hop history, from his unforgettable intro on Eminem’s Without Me to his contributions on the film soundtrack to 8 Mile. See this legendary hip-hop artist live in Worthing for one night only.
